Eckle’s Place was created by teachers, for teachers, with a simple belief: some of the best learning happens when children are actively involved in it. We design hands-on maths and literacy games for primary classrooms that encourage students to touch, move, talk, explore and problem-solve together. Every resource is created with the realities of classroom life in mind, from small-group rotations and intervention sessions to whole-class activities and those satisfying moments when a concept finally clicks.

Children don’t learn in just one way. Research increasingly supports giving students opportunities to see, hear, discuss, move and physically interact with the concepts they are learning. Studies in mathematics have shown that concrete manipulatives can support understanding and retention, while research into embodied learning highlights the value of movement and physical interaction in helping children make sense of new ideas. In a world where screens occupy a growing part of children’s school and home lives, we believe there is enormous value in bringing learning back into their hands.

That is why Eckle’s Place focuses on physical resources that do more than simply teach a curriculum concept. Our games are designed to support fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, communication, collaboration and confidence, while making learning social, purposeful and memorable. We want teachers to have resources they genuinely enjoy using and students to have activities they genuinely want to return to.
